The book "Travel Around China" to be launched in 25 languages in the world

english.chinamil.com.cn 2007-08-31

"Travel Around China", a book published by the Blue Sky Publishing House of the PLA Air Force, will be distributed around the world in 25 languages except Chinese by Harper Collins Publishers under Rupert Murdoch, head of the world's largest media empire. Yesterday afternoon, leaders from the General Administration of Press and Publication, and the Publicity Department of the General Political Department of the PLA, attended the copyright signing ceremony held by the Blue Sky Publishing House and Harper Collins Publishers in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

"Travel Around China" has been reprinted for several times after its first publication in China. Selling the copyright to the largest publisher in the world, is part of the "going global" strategy of the Blue Sky Publishing House.

The sources said that Harper Collins Publishers would donate 2000 volumes of the English-version of the books to the Beijing Organization Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG), hoping that the BOCOG authority would designate the book as an official travel guide for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
