BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) -- A grand performance was staged in Beijing
Monday evening to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the Chinese People's
Liberation Army (PLA), with the presence of President Hu Jintao and other top
leaders.
The singing and dancing performance is an artistic retrospect of the 80
years of history of the PLA, which was founded on August 1, 1927.
Top legislator Wu Bangguo, Premier Wen Jiabao, and Jia Qinglin, Zeng
Qinghong, Wu Guanzheng, Li Changchun and Luo Gan, all members of the Standing
Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central
Committee also joined more than 6,000spectators to watch the performance.
