BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese and Tanzanian military leaders
met here on Monday, pledging to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the
two armed forces.
The Chinese armed forces attach great importance to developing relations
with the Tanzanian armed forces, said Chief of General Staff of the Chinese
People's Liberation Army Liang Guanglie.
Liang told LM Mwamunyange, chief of Staff of the Tanzanian People's Defense
Forces, that China is ready to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation
between the two sides.
Since establishment of diplomatic ties, the two countries have conducted
fruitful cooperation in the political, economic and military sectors, he said.
China appreciates the support by Tanzania on the Taiwan and human rights
issues, and it will make joint efforts with Tanzania to further enhance
bilateral ties, Liang added.
Mwamunyange said China is a reliable friend of Tanzania, adding his country
expects to further cement exchanges and cooperation between the two armed
forces.
He also reiterated the Tanzanian government's adherence to the one China
policy.
