Upon the approval of the Central Military Commission, the PLA symposium on
the study of General Secretary Hu Jintao's important speech and the
implementation of the scientific outlook on development was held in Beijing on
July 6-7. Xu Caihou, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and
vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended and addressed the
symposium. In his speech, Xu Caihou called on the entire PLA to earnestly study
and implement Chairman Hu Jintao's important speech at the Party School of the
CPC Central Committee with a strong sense of political responsibility, and
political zeal, and take it as the paramount political task at present. The
officers and men of the PLA should unify their thinking and action with the
spirit of the speech in real earnest, rally closely around the CPC Central
Committee with Comrade Hu Jintao as the general secretary, stick to the guidance
of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of the "Three Represents",
deepen the implementation of the scientific outlook on development, keep forging
ahead in a pioneering spirit, do a solid job, and greet the successful convening
of the 17th National Congress of the CPC with brilliant achievements.
Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and Director of the
General Political Department of the PLA, presided over the symposium.
Liu Yongzhi, Sun Zhongtong, Liu Zhenqi, Tong Shiping, Du Jincai and Ma
Xiaotian, leaders of the General Political Department of the PLA, National
Defense University and the General Office of the Central Military Commission,
attended the symposium. Some leaders, cadres of organs, experts and scholars
involved in the publicity and theoretical study front compared notes and
exchanged their understanding and comprehension on studying Chairman Hu Jintao's
important speech, and shared their tentative views on strengthening the work of
arming the mind with the theory.
