China, Mozambique pledge to enhance co-op

  BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Xu Caihou met here Thursday with Chief of the General Staff of the Mozambican Military Forces Lagos Lidimo who is on a week-long official visit to China.

  Xu said China and Mozambique have long-term friendship and the two countries conducted fruitful cooperation in the fields of politics, economy and culture in recent years.

  The relations between the two armed forces have developed smoothly and China will work with Mozambique to promote the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, Xu said.

  Lidimo appreciated China's support and assistance to Mozambique over the years and he hoped to further the friendly cooperation through his visit.

  Lidimo also held talks with his Chinese counterpart Liang Guanglie on Thursday morning, exchanging views on bilateral relations and military cooperation.
