On June 15, a support-capability inspection demonstration of a new generation logistic equipment of the PLA wrapped up in a certain East China Sea waters. Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the PLA General Logistics Department stressed at the summing-up meeting that the PLA must carry out in a deep-going way Chairman Hu Jintao's strategic thinking on military struggle preparations, keep effective implementation of historical mission of the army at the new stage in the new century in mind and focus on the demands for logistic support in future battles when we go all out to do a good job of development and provision, use and management of new-type logistic equipment and fulfill the tasks of logistic equipment preparations according to high standard and in high quality so as to ensure all new-type logistic equipment would generate support capability in a timely manner.

　　Liao Xilong also stressed that the PLA must integrate the logistic equipment building into the overall national economic and social development, try our utmost efforts to rely on social sectors to strengthen the logistic equipment building and strive to break a new path of logistics equipment development featuring less input, high efficiency and faster development through army-civilian joint development, rental mobilization, purchase from market and commissioned service, etc.
