While meeting the attendees of the College and School Education Under
Information Conditions Symposium of the PLA, Guo Boxiong, member of the
Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central
Military Commission, stressed that military colleges and schools should
earnestly study and carry out Chairman Hu Jintao's strategic decision on
actively promoting the transition from military trainings under mechanized
conditions to that under information conditions, further heighten the sense of
mission, the sense of responsibility and the awareness of a urgent need for
boosting the transition of military training, and strive for creating a new
situation in college and school education under information conditions.
Guo Boxiong noted that college and school education is a vital ingredient
of military training and likewise a main channel for turning out competent
personnel, and for that matter, it is in a position of great importance for and
bears the heavy responsibility of boosting the transition of military training.
Guo Boxiong highlighted that the military colleges and schools should
conscientiously delve into the demands for personnel training in building an
informationized army and winning information warfare, find out the right
knowledge structure, caliber and quality that the new type of military
commanders should acquire in order to meet the requirements for military
operations under information conditions, study the relations between information
knowledge learning, skill training and the education and training in other
fields, and study the actual situations and basic conditions of each college and
school. Make sure to have a correct grasp of the objectives, tasks and basic
requirements of college and school education under information conditions
through the analysis and study, so as to enhance the scientific nature, the
pertinence and actual effect of college and school education.
Relevant leaders from the four general headquarters/departments of the PLA
and the general office of the Central Military Commission attended the meeting.
