Approved by Chairman Hu Jintao and the Central Military Commission, a forum on ideological and political education of the armed forces was held in Beijing yesterday. Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Political Department of the PLA, stressed at the forum that all levels of the armed forces should seriously implement the important instructions of Chairman Hu Jintao, be fully aware of the new requirements arose from the new situation and missions for ideological and political education, and do well in the ideological and political education of the armed forces with a strong sense of responsibility.

　　The main task of the forum is to deeply study and implement the important instructions of Chairman Hu Jintao, deliberate on how to implement the Outline of Ideological and Political Education in the People's Liberation Army (For trial implementation) and further enhance the initiative, pertinence and effect of the ideological and political education.

　　By using such forms as multi-media courseware, short TV program and written speech, the fruits of the armed forces in enhancing and improving ideological and political education in recent years are reflected from different aspects.

　　Liu Yongzhi, deputy director of the General Political Department, Tong Shiping, assistant director of the General Political Department, and leaders of the political departments of the major units of the PLA and the Armed Police Force attended the forum.
