The General Staff Headquarters (GSH) of the PLA held a series of special-topic talks in Beijing over March 6-13 to offer guidance lectures centering on the theme of "Engage in in-depth study and implementation of the scientific outlook on development and push forward in an all round way the better and faster development of various work and constructions". Liang Guanglie, member of the Central Military Commission and chief of general staff of the PLA, attended the talks.

　　Leaders of the departments and committees of Central Committee of the CPC, the ministries and commissions under the State Council and the four general headquarters /departments of the PLA were invited to give special talks on such topics as the "Development and Change of the Current International Situation and Their Impact on China's Security" and the "Impact of the Development of Military High-Tech on the Mode of Operational Capability Generation" with the aim of helping the midlevel and senior cadres to deepen their study and comprehension of the important strategic thinking of the scientific outlook on development and building a harmonious socialist society, profoundly understand the development and change of the national security situation and the demands of the mission of the army, be fully aware of the political responsibility of the Party committee and leaders in stepping up the cultivation of a fine work style, firmly grasp the basic benchmark of seeking after a faster development on the basis of being better, and arm our mind, guide our practice and boost the work with the innovative theory of the Party.
