Li Jinai urges bigger role for women in army building

  While meeting the military members of the sixth "Top 10 Distinguished Chinese Women" yesterday morning, Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Political Department of the PLA, stressed that women are an important force in the army's construction and development and, for that matter, efforts should be made to bring into full play women's cardinal role in the army building.

  The members of the "Top 10 Distinguished Chinese Women" that are elected from the military community include Research Fellow Yao Yunzhu, director of the Second Research Office of the Military Research Department of the Academy of Military Sciences of the PLA, and Professor Zhang Guanhua, director of the Cultural Teaching and Research Office of the Training Department of the Armed Police Shanghai Political Institute. They are both National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetters and have made great contributions at their own posts of duty.
