Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, while making a study and investigation visit to troops stationed in Nanjing recently, noted that all PLA troops should persist in being strict with themselves, carry out trainings in earnest with the aim of fulfilling their historical mission in the new century and the new period in an all round way, and keep on enhancing their capabilities in coping with the multiple threats to security and fulfilling the diversified military tasks with wining IT-based local wars as the core.

　　Braving the burning hot weather, Guo Boxiong inspected the troops of the army and the air force, inspected some of the new armaments, and listened to reports on the all-around building of the Nanjing Military Area Command and its air force with the priority being given to inspecting the military training and the work of combat readiness.

　　During his visit to Nanjing, Guo Boxiong also presided over an informal discussion involving the military institutes and schools on how to further boost the building and development of military institutes and schools, and had a discussion with the leaders of these military institutes and schools.
