The "training course for studying and implementing the 'Program on the Overall Construction of Modern Logistics'" was wrapped up on March 8 at the National Defense University. Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Logistics Department of the PLA, attended and addressed the summing up meeting.

　　Liao Xilong noted that the Program on the Overall Construction of Modern Logistics was hammered out by pooling the brains of the whole army and, on the basis of combining theory with practice, came up with the answers to some vital questions such as what kinds of logistics should be built and how to build the logistics under the new historical conditions--all are fundamental and orientational issues of overall importance.

　　Liao Xilong called on the logistics leaders and organs at all levels to become the organizers and promoters of the overall construction of modern logistics. They should lead by example, take the lead, play an exemplary role in studying, giving publicity to, implementing and putting into effect the Program on the Overall Construction of Modern Logistics, and keep on opening up new prospects for the overall construction of modern logistics.
