On the occasion of the International Working Women's Day, March 8, Xu Caihou, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited female military deputies attending the 1st Session of the 11th NPC and female military delegates to the 1st Session of the 11th CPPCC and extended sincere greetings and festive congratulations to them, and through them to all women comrades in the PLA, on behalf of Chairman Hu Jintao and the Central Military Commission.

　　Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Political Department of the PLA, accompanied Xu Caihou to visit female deputies and delegates.

　　Xu Caihou said women are a powerful impetus to our revolution, construction and reform. Currently, there are 120,000 servicewomen in the PLA and they are playing important roles in the modernization drive of our national defense and the army.Xu Caihou stressed that the Party committees and political organs at all levels should, as always, attach importance to women's work, further strengthen the organization and leadership, show concern for the work, life and growth of servicewomen, and create favorable environment and conditions for them to realize all-round development, render meritorious service and make a distinguished career in the army.
