The PLA Heroes and Model Servicemen Representative Conference held a plenary session yesterday afternoon in Beijing, Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, stressed when he addressed the session that the PLA troops should rally closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Hu Jintao as the general secretary, stick to the guidance of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of the "Three Represents", put into effect the scientific outlook on development in depth, always hold on to the fine traditions of obeying the command of the Party , serving the people and being brave and skillful in battle, and faithfully carry out the historical mission of the army in the new century and the new period, so as to make new and greater contributions to achieving further successes in building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, to creating a new situation in building socialism with Chinese characteristics, and to the realization of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

　　Cao Gangchuan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, state councilor and minister of national defense, presided over the conference. Xu Caihou, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the conference. CMC members Liang Guanglie, Li Jinai, Liao Xilong, Chen Bingde and Jing Zhiyuan also attended the conference.
