　　While addressing the Seminar on the All-Round Construction of Modern Logistics and the Conference of Resources Conservation yesterday, Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Logistics Department of the PLA stated that the army should further strengthen its resolve and confidence in the all-round construction of modern logistics, grasp the overall requirements, the basic connotation and the objectives and missions, deepen the understanding of the importance and the pressing nature of developing resource-and-energy-efficient logistics, strengthen leadership and guidance, and make great efforts to push the construction of modern logistics and resources and energy conservation in the army to a brand new stage.

　　Liao Xilong underlined that the army must grasp the overall requirements, the basic connotation and the objectives and missions of constructing modern logistics, make sure to achieve substantial and tangible progresses in constructing modern logistics in an all-round way before 2010, realize basically the integration of the support systems, the outsourcing of logistics support mode, the informationalization of support means and scientific logistics management by 2020, and lay a solid foundation for fulfilling the strategic objectives of constructing an information-oriented logistics and winning information warfare by around 2050.
