A meeting in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the
establishment of the Army Aviation was held on December 31, 2006 in Beijing.
While meeting the representatives attending the celebration, Liang Guanglie,
member of the Central Military Commission and chief of general staff of the PLA,
underlined that the officers and men of the Army Aviation should firmly
implement a series of important instructions by Chairman Hu Jintao and the
decisions and arrangements of the Central Military Commission, all-roundly
implement the scientific outlook on development, be bold in innovation, be
enthusiastic and press on, and work in a down-to-earth way to boost the better
and faster development of the Army Aviation.
Liang Guanglie pointed out that the Central Military Commission attaches
great importance to the development of the Army Aviation and has made the
important decision of giving priority to the development of the Army Aviation,
which has offered the Army Aviation a hard-to-come-by opportunity for its
development, and in the meantime, has put forward new and higher requirements
for it. Liang Guanglie underscored that the Army Aviation is at an important
development stage, which requires both faster development and the approach of
respecting the objective law and attaching importance to the quality of
development. The Army Aviation should, guided by the scientific outlook on
development, seriously summarize the practical experience of the construction
and development of the Army Aviation, grasp the law of development of the
high-tech arms, handle well the relations between the present and long term
development, between the key and general projects, and between the needs and the
possibility in light of the principle of seeking for faster development on the
basis of being better, strengthen scientific planning, straighten out the
thoughts for development, and put forward effective measures so as to put the
Army Aviation construction on the track of scientific development.
