Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Political Department of the PLA, highlighted, at the meeting of security directors and the meeting of chief procurators of the army on December 22, that it is required to implement and put into effect the scientific outlook on development in an all round way, meet the demands of the current situation and tasks, and constantly heighten the quality and level of the political-legal work of the army.

　　Li Jinai stated that it is a must to adhere all the way to the principle of guiding the political-legal work of the army with the scientific outlook on development, take the maintenance of a secure, stable and harmonious environment as the fundamental function of the political-legal work, regard rendering service to the preparedness for military struggle as the task of utmost importance of the political-legal work, give the priority to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the officers and men in the political-legal work, and look upon putting prevention first and comprehensive improvement as the basic practice of the political-legal work.

　　At the meeting, Sun Zhongtong, deputy director of the General Political Department of the PLA, summed up the political-legal work of the army in the past year and made arrangement for the coming year. Leaders in charge of the political-legal work and responsible person of the military courts and the juridical and administrative work of all the major units stationed in Beijing as well as all the attendees of the meeting of security directors and the meeting of chief procurators of the army were present.
