Liang Guanglie, member of the Central Military Commission and chief of
general staff of the PLA, held talks with Lubomir Bulik, the visiting chief of
general staff of the armed forces of Slovakia yesterday in Beijing.
Liang Guanglie said that since Slovakia's independence, the exchanges and
cooperation between China and Slovakia have developed smoothly in various
fields. It is in the fundamental interests of China and Slovakia and their two
peoples to further consolidate and deepen the Sino-Slovakian relations. The
Chinese armed forces attaches great importance to developing its ties with the
Slovakian armed forces and is willing to work together with the Slovakian side
to push for the development of relations between the two militaries along
multi-field and multi-level direction.
Liang Guanglie also briefed his guests on China's national defense policy
and the army building, etc.
Lubomir Bulik said that in recent years, the Slovakia-China relation has
progressed well. Slovakia and China should not only maintain their high-level
contacts, but also intensify cooperation in personnel training and other fields
so as to push forward the friendly cooperative ties between the two countries
and the two militaries.
Zhang Qinsheng, assistant chief of general staff of the PLA attended the
talks.
Liang Guanglie held a welcome ceremony in honor of his counterpart before
the talks.
Lubomir Bulik and his delegation arrived in Beijing on November 19 to pay a
six-day visit to China at the invitation of Liang Guanglie.
