While making an inspection tour to the troops stationed in Xinjiang recently, Xu Caihou, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, pointed out emphatically that the Party committees at all levels should unremittingly give priority to the study and implementation of the scientific outlook on development, regard it as a matter of great importance that has a bearing on the orientation, the overall situation and the fundamentals of the army building, put in more time and energy in arming the minds of the officers and men with it, and do a good job in carrying it out and putting it into practice by way of linking it closely with the missions, tasks and the reality of the army building so as to promote the army building in a faster and better way.

　　During the inspection tour, Xu Caihou visited the leading bodies and some of the troop units of the Xinjiang Military Area Command as well as a division of the Armed Police Force to inspect and give guidance to the work there. He also had informal discussions with some leaders at regiment level and above and officers and men from the grass-roots units, and visited the troops on duty and in training as well as the cultural life and living facilities of the frontier companies in Huoerguosi and Baihaba.
