Yesterday, Xu Caihou, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited the film artists of the August First Film Studio and toured the newly-renovated History Museum of the August First Film Studio, during which he stressed that film artists of the PLA should earnestly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Hu Jintao's important speech when meeting the representatives who attending the Meeting to Mark the 100^th Anniversary of the Birth of the Chinese Films, energetically intensify all-round development in light of the requirements of the important thought of "Three Represents" and scientific outlook on development so as to bring forth more top-notch works worthy of the times, promote spiritual civilization of the army and make new contributions to the prosperity of China's film undertaking.

　　Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Political Department accompanied Xu Caihou during the visit.

　　The August First Film Studio is China's only military film studio, and it is also one of the four major film bases in new China. In the commemorative activities to mark the 100 anniversary of the birth of the Chinese films, 11 artists of the August First Film Studio were awarded the title "National Film Artists Who Have Made Outstanding Contributions", two artists were given the title of "Outstanding Film Artist" and six films shot by the August First Film Studio were included in the Top 100 Films Shot in the Past 100 Years.
