BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Liang Guanglie, chief of general staff
of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), held talks with his
Congolese counterpart Charles Richard Mondjo here Monday.
Liang said China and the Republic of Congo have maintained friendly
cooperation since the two countries forged diplomatic ties 41 years ago.
China appreciates Congo's adherence to the one-China policy and its
support for China on major international issues, said Liang, who is also a
member of the Central Military Commission.
Mondjo, who began his China tour on Sunday as guest of Liang,
expressed his gratitude for China's assistance to his country.
He expressed the hope that his current visit would enhance friendly
cooperation between armed forces of the two countries.
During his week-long tour in China, Mondjo and his party will visit
Chengdu, Nanjing and Shanghai cities.
