Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the
General Logistics Department of the PLA, met with Fernando Bendini, the visiting
chief of staff of the Argentine Army yesterday afternoon in Beijing.
Liao Xilong first expressed warm welcome to Bendini for his China visit. He
said that since China and Argentina established the diplomatic relations in
1972, the bilateral ties have witnessed the all-round development as well as
frequent reciprocal visits by high-level officials of the two countries. Along
with the frequent exchange of visits between the leaders of the two countries
and the establishment of the Sino-Argentine strategic partnership, the
Sino-Argentine relations have ushered in a new era of all-round development. The
Chinese side is satisfied with the development of the friendly and cooperative
ties between the two countries, and holds a positive attitude towards the
development of the ties between the Chinese People's Liberation Army and its
Argentine counterpart. The Chinese military is willing to make common efforts
with the Argentine side to continue to push for further development of friendly
cooperation between the two militaries, and make proactive contributions to
deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Bendini said the Argentine Army highly values the friendship with the
Chinese People's Liberation Army. The Argentine side is willing to work together
with the Chinese side to constantly push for the in-depth development of
friendly and cooperative ties between the two militaries.
Bendini and his party arrived in Beijing on August 27 to start an official
goodwill visit to China.
