Xu Caihou, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the
CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission made an
investigation and study tour of the military units stationed in Beijing
and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region recently, during which he
stressed that the whole army should continue to carry out the Party-wide
education on maintaining the advanced nature of the Party members in a
deep-going way, with acting on the important thought of the "Three
Represents" as the main contents, and energetically intensify the
capability-building of the Party organizations at various levels in line
with the "four capabilities" requirements put forward by Chairman Hu
Jintao, so as to successfully fulfill the historic mission of the army in
the new century and new period and vigorously push forward the military
changes with Chinese characteristics.
During his investigation and study tour, Xu visited the
capability-building training classes run by the Beijing Garrison and the
Beijing Military Area Command, visited military units of the Inner
Mongolia Military Command, the Air Force and the Armed Police Force units
stationed in Inner Mongolia, listened to the reports by military units on
their work, especially on the ongoing Party-wide education on maintaining
the advanced nature of the Party members, and on how to strengthen the
capability-building of the Party organizations. He also went to the
grassroots companies and border sentry posts to inspect the military
training and living facilities and held informal discussions with the
officers and men there.
