BEIJING, June 11 (Xinhuanet) -- General Liang Guanglie, chief of
general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), held talks
with his Angolan counterpart Fernandes Sanjar here on Saturday.
Liang said that China and Angola have witnessed fruitful exchanges
and cooperation since the two countries established diplomatic ties in
1983. China appreciates Angola's adherence to the one-China policy and the
African country's support for China on the human rights issue.
The traditional friendship and cooperation between the Chinese and
Angolan armed forces have also enjoyed new progress, said Liang.
Sanjar said Angola cherishes the traditional friendship with China
and hopes to further exchange and cooperation with the Chinese government
and armed forces.
Sanjar began his China tour on June 4 as a guest of Liang.
