Guo Boxiong, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, met with the
political work delegation of the Korean People's Army led by Pak Jae Kyong,
deputy director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, in
Beijing on April 21, 2005.
Guo Boxiong said China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)
enjoy profound traditional friendship that has endured the test of time and
history and is the common precious treasure shared by both countries. In recent
years, the ties between the armed forces of both sides have developed
constantly. China will make joint efforts with the DPRK in light of the common
understanding reached by the leaders of both countries to boost further the
friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and two armed
forces.
Pak Jae Kyong said that the relations between the DPRK and China have been
developing constantly and the armed forces of both countries have played a vital
role in developing the traditional friendship between the DPRK and China. The
people and army of the DPRK will, as ever, continue to carry out the
instructions of comrade Kim Jong Il to make unceasing efforts to solidify and
develop the friendship between the DPRK and China.
