Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the
General Political Department of the PLA, met in Beijing with the political work
delegation of the Korean People's Army headed by Pak Jae Kyong, deputy director
of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army on April 19, 2005.
Li Jinai said that there exists profound traditional friendship between the
Communist Party of China and the Workers' Party of Korea, the two countries and
the two peoples. The Communist Party of China and the Chinese Government highly
value the Sino-DPRK relations. Under the guideline of “carrying forward the
traditions, looking into the future, developing further friendly and
good-neighborly friendship and strengthening cooperation”, we are willing to
join efforts with the DPRK side to enhance the friendly exchanges and
cooperation between the two parties and the two countries in various fields so
as to further promote friendly ties between China and the DPRK and bring
benefits to the two countries and the two peoples.
Pak Jae Kyong said that under the current complicated and volatile
international situation, the DPRK side will continue to carry forward and
develop the friendly traditions between the two countries, and work still harder
to bring the friendly co-operation between the two countries to a new high and
this is the unswerving policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK
Government. The DPRK side will join hands with the Chinese side to push for new
development in the China-DPRK relations.
