Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission stressed during his recent research trip to troops stationed in Fujian and Guangdong Provinces that the army must uphold Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of “Three Represents” as the guide, do a good job in the ongoing education activities of maintaining the advanced nature of the Party members, energetically intensify the ideological and political work of the troops, actively promote the military changes with Chinese characteristics, step up combat readiness training and be strict in running the army according to the law so as to improve army building in all its aspects and constantly boost its capability to win local wars under informationalization conditions. 　　

　　During his research trip, Guo Boxiong visited units of the Second Artillery Force, the Nanjing Military Area Command, the Air Force and the Navy stationed in Fujiang and Guangdong Provinces. He listened to the reports on the ongoing education activities of maintaining the advanced nature of the Party members and the building of troops in various aspects. He watched the combat readiness training of some troops and visited dormitories of officers and men and the training grounds where he had cordial chats with ordinary rank and file. In addition, he also held informal discussions with cadres and the Party members of some units.
