PLA Daily 2004-11-25 　　 　　Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized recently when doing investigation and survey in troop units stationed in Hainan that the army should hold high the great banners of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of “Three Represents”, implement Jiang Zemin's thinking on national defense and army building in a deep-going way and exert efforts to strengthen the building of Party committee focusing on upgrading its leading ability in accordance with the arrangement of the 4th Plenum of the 16th Central Committee of the Party and the important instructions of Chairman Hu Jintao so as to further bring out the core leading role of the Party committees at various levels. 　　During his investigation and survey tour, Guo Boxiong also listened to the reports by the Party committee of the Guangzhou Military Area Command and the Party committee of a naval base. He also had discussions with commanders of various troop units and comrades from the leading departments, visited grassroots officers and men and, on behalf of Chairman Hu and the Central Military Commission, extended regards to veterans who were about to be demobilized. Moreover, Guo Boxiong also met with the leaders and officers from the leading departments of the Hainan Provincial Military Command as well as the leading comrades from of the aviation unit of the South China Sea Fleet of the PLA Navy.
