The awarding ceremony of the 8th Military Theatrical Festival was held yesterday in Beijing. Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Political Department of the PLA, attended the ceremony and awarded prizes to the winners.　　

　　The 8th Military Theatrical Festival was staged to mark the 55th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It was an important measure taken for intensifying the study and implementation of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of “Three Represents” and for promoting the prosperity and development of military cultural and art. In the past two months, 40 splendid programs created by the PLA and the Armed Police Force were presented in more than 200 performances, attracting nearly 300,000 audience from the military and the civilians. The theatrical festival has showcased the rich fruits the military cultural and artistic work have yielded in the past five years and the bold innovative spirits of military cultural and artistic workers.
