Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, paid a visit to the Navy Equipment Research Institute. On behalf of Jiang Zemin, chairman of the Central Military Commission, and the Central Military Commission, he, on the occasion of the festival, warmly greeted officers and men, researchers, retired comrades, staff members and their families. He stressed that the PLA, under the leadership of the Central Committee of the CPC and the Central Military Commission and guided by Deng Xiaoping theory and the important thought of "Three Represents", should work closely together and keep up with the times to do a better job in upgrading the scientific research of military equipment to a higher level. 　　The Navy Equipment Research Institute is a very important research institute for the development of Navy equipment. Guo Boxiong, accompanied by Zhang Dingfa and Hu Yanlin, commander and political commissar of the Navy, visited the laboratories and extended his regards to the researchers working there.
