Li Xueju, minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) and other leaders, paid a visit yesterday to the General Staff Headquarters, the General Political Department, the General Logistics Department and the General Armaments Department of the PLA and the Armed Police Force (APF) Headquarters to pay tribute and extend cordial greetings to all the officers and men of the PLA and the Armed Police Force, military persons transferred to civilian work and demobilized soldiers, retired military cadres, handicapped servicemen, and soldiers' dependants　and members of revolutionary martyrs' families . 　　In response, the leaders of the PLA general headquarters/departments and the Armed Police Force expressed their gratitude to the Party committees and governments at various levels and the broad masses of people for their concern and support to the army building, and spoke highly of the contributions made by the civil affairs departments to promoting the solidarity between the army and the government and between the army and the people. 　　(January 17, PLA Daily)
