Gen. Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the PLA General Logistics Department, met with a Vietnamese military delegation led by Nguyen Van Dung, deputy director of the General Logistics Department of the Vietnamese People's Army in Beijing yesterday.
Liao Xilong said that China and Vietnam were friendly neighbors linked by common mountains and rivers and there existed traditional friendship between the two countries. Under the guideline of "long-term stability, facing the future, good-neighborliness and all-round cooperation" laid down jointly by the leaders of the two countries and two parties, the Sino-Vietnamese relations has been developing smoothly. The PLA is willing to continue to maintain and strengthen the friendly and cooperative ties with the Vietnamese People's Army, and promote the all-round development of bilateral ties between the two countries, and work together with the Vietnamese side to safeguard regional peace and stability.
Nguyen Van Dung highly valued the relations between Vietnam and China, and expressed the hope that his current visit would help strengthen the friendship between the two militaries and promote the development of friendly ties between the two countries and two militaries.
