Recently, the reporters watched a confrontation exercise of long-range reconnaissance operation, which was staged by an airborne unit in the heart of the Changbai Mountains. Under high-tech conditions, a reconnaissance detachment of the "Red Army", being pursued and blocked by the "Blue Army", penetrated hundreds of kilometers in six days and nights after successfully crossing water barrier, minefield and thick woods. This is part of the first ten-month long, high intensity and long distance comprehensive confrontation exercise organized by the unit, which has been successfully conducted.
Different from the previous exercises, this one has come out first in terms of intensity, distance, duration and subject numbers completed in the training history of the PLA airborne force. The exercise was kicked off last October, in which the officers and men covered more than 20 cities and counties of the Central Plain, South China and Northeast China in more than 300 days. They selected comprehensive and execrable environments to continuously carry out high intensity confrontation exercise, in which the will and physical quality of the officers and men were honed in an all-round way.
