PLA Daily 2004-08-06

¡¡¡¡On August 5, 2004£¬over 200 cadres of civilian college graduates recruited by the PLA General Staff Headquarters GSH gathered at the Communication Non-Commissioned Officer School to receive three-month recruitment training. According to the source, the General Staff Headquarters has, in the past few years, recruited over 10,000 high-caliber people specialized in various fields from civilian higher education institutions, providing a powerful human resources support for military training featuring new technologies and for the modernization drive of the army.¡¡

¡¡¡¡In order to help cadres enrolled from civilian colleges to transform swiftly from ordinary college students to qualified servicemen, the General Staff Headquarters makes a point of running training courses for cadres enrolled from civilian colleges. Every year, cadres enrolled from civilian colleges would be put together to receive necessary military and political trainings. In order to meet the needs of military changes with Chinese characteristics, the General Staff Headquarters has also intensified efforts to recruit talents with higher educational background in recent years. Since 2000, it has recruited over 1,000 high-caliber personnel who have obtained master's degrees or above, and established many scientific and technological innovation work stations so as to create sound environment and conditions for outstanding technical personnel to give full play to their talents.
