On the eve of the Army Day, an armored division of the Jinan Military Area Command held an on-the-post training examination, at which, Dong Jian, a mess squad leader of a unit directly under the armored division, won the first place in the air defense tactics specialty. It is learned that over 200 logistics personnel of the division got excellent scores in this examination, and 53 of them have become top-notch trainers in over 20 specialties.
According to the leaders of the logistics department of the division, for years, hundreds of cooks in this division have been providing catering support to troops through manual operation. Heavy daily catering support made it impossible for these logistics personnel to find time to take part in military training in line with the requirements of the outline of military training. Through educational activities of plunging into military changes with Chinese characteristics, the Party committee of the division managed to boost support efficiency by adopting advanced technology facilities and support means. It also made great efforts to solve the problem of low military training attendance rate of the logistics personnel. The logistics department of the division raised funds to buy disinfectors, steamed bread machines, meat grinders, warm food delivery vehicles, electric boilers and mowers for grassroots units, so as to release the logistics personnel from heavy manual operation and enable them to find time to take part in military trainings with all their hearts and souls. With advanced facilities in place, it now needs only half of the previous cooking time to fulfill the catering support tasks. Logistics personnel released from the heavy manual operation can now find time to participate in military training. The training attendance rate of logistics personnel of this division has increased by 20% and their overall quality has also been remarkably improved.
