In mid-June, an artillery division of the Guangzhou Military Area Command (MAC) launched a series of actual-troops exercises with live ammunition in a mountainous area of northern Guangdong Province. These joint training exercises honed the comprehensive capabilities of the troops in a complete war process.
In the exercises, the troops were intercepted by "enemy" troops both in the air and on the ground when they pushed forward. Later, the troops launched an attack of joint operations involving all the arms of services, commanding communications systems, fire systems, reconnaissance systems and logistics support systems.
More than ten fighting methods were tested and improved in the joint exercises and some methods that did not live up to the needs of joint operations were dropped. Through the exercises, the fighting power of the troops has been further boosted.
