On July 7th, the Shenyang Workstation for Scientific and Technological Innovation under the General Staff Headquarters of the PLA was officially launched at the Shenyang Artillery College.
Since June 2000, the General Staff Headquarters of the PLA has established seven scientific and technological innovation workstations respectively in Xi'an, Beijing, Nanjing and other cities. During the past four years, these seven workstations have achieved fruitful results in their work. A total of 4,000 experts working at these stations have made joint efforts to tackle more than 900 high-tech research subjects badly needed by army building and made significant breakthrough in many key technologies. So far, these workstations have won 392 National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards and Military Scientific and Technological Progress Awards.
Zhang Li, deputy chief of general staff, conferred the plaque to the Shenyang Workstation for Scientific and Technological Innovation and issued letters of appointment to the first batch of experts going to work at the workstation.
