On June 5, the first female militia medical aid battalion was established in the General Hospital of the Chengdu Military Area Command. This female militia medical aid battalion, consisting of 182 nurses entering into contract with the hospital, and at the command of the Peoples Armed Forces Department of Jinniu District, Chengdu City, is responsible for daily emergency treatment and first aid, and medical aid as well as wartime medical treatment and rescue operation. The average age of its members is 20 years old, and 76 of them have a college or higher educational background.
