Officers and men fight hard to help restore rail traffic

  At 23:00 of June 29, a 300m-long section of the railway somewhere between Jining and Erlianhaote in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was damaged by incessant heavy rain, and more than 300 officers and men of a brigade of the Beijing Military Area Command fought side by side with railway workers in the midst of heavy rain for 15 consecutive hours to have it repaired. At 19:30 of June 30, the damaged section of the railway was finally repaired and the traffic has been restored.

  At 2:00 am of June 30, when the brigade camped at a training base at Zhurihe in Inner Mongolia for training purpose received the emergency rescue order, it immediately selected more than 300 officers and men with the Party members as its backbone to rush to the scene in the midst of heavy rain. The reporter noticed at the scene that the railroad was seriously damaged by heavy rain, and the officers and men immediately plunged themselves into rush repair work as soon as they arrived at the site under the direction of the railway technicians. More than 180 Party members of this rush repair team raised the slogan of "braving heavy rain to remove dangerous situation, and presenting a gift to our Party's birthday with our concrete action." The Party members set up a shock team on their own to rush to wherever the situations were most dangerous. Encouraged by the Party members, the officers and men worked in great spirits for 15 consecutive hours and successfully accomplished their emergency rescue mission.
