A unit under the Beijing Military Area Command is stationed in the depth of the Taihang Mountains, and it is 75 km away from the nearest county seat. During the past few years, children's school education has been the main concerns of officers and men of this unit. In order to solve this problem, after careful deliberations, the members of the Party Committee decided to allocate 200,000 yuan to buy two commercial residential apartments at the county seat, and let their school children live in these two apartments. Shortly afterwards, Liu Xihong, political commissar of this unit, negotiated with the local education bureau to exempt their school children from paying transient education fee. This unit also selected two family dependents that had strong responsibility and engaged in education work before as companions to those school children in study. Moreover, for the convenience of school children and the families, the unit bought a special coach for school children and selected a best driver from the unit to regularly send them to school and take them back to barracks.
