In early June, a pontoon-bridge regiment of the Shenyang Military Area Command carried out a flood fighting exercise with self-developed "Intelligent System for Operation in Rivers", shortening the preparation and decision-making time from 2 hours to 20 minutes.
As a professional emergency unit of flood fighting, the regiment developed a set of new training system by means of combining professional training with flood fighting practice in recent years. In order to beef up the capability of the troops in terms of disaster relief and flood fighting, the regiment made vigorous efforts to establish informationization platform. By relying on the military and civilian technology strength, they developed a number of advanced equipment, such as the command cabin of flood fighting and disaster relief, digital equipment for a single ship, electronic map database, positioning navigation and real-time monitoring equipment, they also reformed the wireless communication vehicle and the amphibious digital scout vehicle, thus enabling them to realize remote synchronous command among information systems and between information system and armament platform.
