Recently, the Zhengzhou Military Sub-Command in Henan Province organized its militia flood prevention detachments to carry out a large-scale flood prevention drill at the Zhongmou section of the Yellow River. The drill combined traditional flood prevention measures with application of modern science and technology, and used many modern flood-prevention and rescue equipment, such as large amphibious hovercrafts, automatic loading (filling) machines as well as stone-dumping machines, etc. Through the drill, the technological contents of flood prevention operations have been greatly increased and the rapid response and flood prevention capabilities of militiamen remarkably improved.
