In the wee hours of the morning one day when the officers and men of the 1st Armored Infantry Company were still deep in sleep, the company received an order to immediately rush to a place to carry out an operational mission. Minutes later, all the officers and men were in full battle gear and rushed to the armored vehicle garage. Under the orders of the company commander, all the armored vehicles started and rushed to the designated area. This is an emergency call-out exercise recently conducted by a division of the Nanjing Military Area Command aiming at boosting the emergency mobile operation capability of its troops.
In order to ensure the smooth execution of the exercise, the division made use of training preparation period and training changeover period to organize repeated training of its troops, and through which it fostered over 200 driving and signal communication backbones. The division also allocated fund to build a closed loop road for training purpose in light of the needs of combat preparations. In addition it also made meticulous preparation for vehicles, signal communication, POL and other materials and equipment so as to boost its field rapid logistics support capability.
In compliance with the new requirements of mobile operation stemming from the fast-changing operational patterns on future battlefield, the division also set many complex conditions for signal communication elements to conduct continuous communication jamming and let them conduct drill in a close-to-real-combat modern battlefield environment so as to boost the mobile operation capability of its troops.
