A mechanized division of the Guangzhou Military Area Command insists on attaching equal importance to tackling key technical problems and talent cultivation, and has fostered a batch of backbones for informationization construction during the experiments of new equipment supporting informationization system.
In order to improve the support ability of informationized equipment in field operations, the division decided, in the second half of last year, to join hands with military and civilian scientific research institutes to carry out trouble-shootings for the informationized system of armament support. The Party committee of the division selected tens of technical backbones to organize a technical group, which in turn established an armament operation group and a tactics research and practice group together with the experts from inside and outside the army to carry out demo teaching and make innovation on tactics trainings, enabling these backbones to master quickly the performance of various new armaments in the system. When the key part of the system for information collection was developed, the division installed it on the new armored vehicles timely, and, in the mean time, requested the trouble-shooting team to take the responsibility for the inspections of its reliability by carrying out trainings in different battlefield environment and conditions, and collecting data. Upon the completion of the trouble-shooting of the new system, officers and men who were responsible for the inspection of the new system had already mastered the operation and utilization of all subsystems of the new armament, which underpinned the future composite drill. The division also invited experts and professors, who had taken part in the development of the system, to give tutoring classes on IT knowledye for officers and men. The teaching contents were later sorted out and released on the local area network (LAN) for officers and men in the entire division to study.
According to the briefings of the leaders of the division, the successful development and application of this informationized system has not only shortened the time for turning the new armament into combat capabilities, but has also fostered a batch of backbones in IT application for the division.
