A helicopter regiment of the Beijing Military Area Command has, in light of the needs of real combat, organized its helicopters into various formations to carry out offensive drills in mountainous and jungle areas under bad weather conditions such as rainy or foggy days, so as to improve its troops' capability to carry out missions under complicated conditions. Besides, it also actively explored new ways for "opening up field operation airport and carrying out mobile support" so as to boost its support capability to meet the needs for implementation of various tasks. Through these efforts, it has realized leapfrog transformation from transportation support to comprehensive operation, from small air fleet for single task to large air fleet for multi-tasks. Thanks to its remarkable efforts, this regiment was awarded first-class military training unit by the higher level and has fostered a batch of top-notch pilots.
