In mid April, a shipping group of the Nanjing Military Area Command carried out a comprehensive exercise in strange waters to hone their capabilities in command, coordination and rapid reaction. Since this year, the group has changed its traditional training patterns and organized the troops to carry out navigation drills in complicated waters with insulars and reefs under bad weather conditions. By doing so, the unit has tempered its offshore mobile support ability and its commanders at different levels have improved their capabilities in organizing and commanding operations, ensuring that the group can react rapidly and win whenever there are emergent tasks.
