Although in the same major of military command, the courses some students take are different from those taken by the others. This is a new thing in the Nanjing Army Command Institute in terms of having the students grouped and taught according to the different requirements of future war and demands of combat units. This move has changed the past general teaching method that students majoring the same specialty were required to take the same courses and made the teaching more effective and pertinent.
In order to suit the requirements of different tasks and characteristics of different combat units, the institute has changed the long-standing teaching organization mode: students in the same major are no longer grouped into the same class, instead, they are sorted into different classes according to different directions determined by the tasks of combat units. A total of 23 courses in different orientations have been arranged and put into effect. Starting from the first half of this year, the military political work command team of the institute has organized its teaching according to different orientations. On the new curriculum, common courses occupy 49%, courses in different orientations cover 51%, thus making tactics teaching and drilling environment even more close to real war so as to ensure what the students have learned in the institute will be able to meet the needs of operational tasks and suit the characteristics of army units.
