In early April, the 11 new training methods for integrated operation developed by a brigade of the Guangzhou Military Area Command has passed the check and acceptance of the military area command, realizing the transformation of the armored forces from single-arms training to multiple-arms coordinated trainings under informationized conditions.
In recent years, the excellent rate for single specialty examinations of this brigade organized by the group army has exceeded 90%. However, in a multi-arms coordinated trainings organized by the higher level, due to the slowness of communication between tanks at the forward edge and the field engineer element, they missed the best opportune time to destroy enemy's obstacles. After careful study and investigation, the brigade realized that it was due to its strict demand upon single arms training to the neglect of coordinated trainings with other arms.
Thus, the brigade realized that it was extremely urgent to improve its coordinated fighting ability with other arms. From then on, the brigade, by pooling its manpower and material resources, and making use of system integration, satellite communication, computer network control and other technologies, developed an field networked command shelter and realized "command in movement" for operational action. It make use of communication information exchange technology, network terminal technology to integrate the satellite system, battlefield monitoring, armored signal communication, automatic artillery command system and antiaircraft fire control system with the commanding center. By doing so, it has successfully realized the integration of reconnaissance and surveillance, operational command and weaponry platform.
