After more than one year of exploration, a depot of the General Logistics Department (GLD) succeeded in building a comprehensive logistics support mechanism integrating inspection, maintenance, renovation and training, which has expanded the scope of service and boosted efficiency in logistic support.
In recent years, equipment with more high-tech features have been supplied to the troops, which is accompanied by more faults because of improper operation. After in-depth investigation, the depot decided to change its old practice to a new one in which guidance and methods of maintenance are provided together with the equipment supply, in order to meet the needs of the battlefield and troops. Before storing new equipment, the depot will send key technicians to the manufacturers to learn operating skills. After that, it will organize field exercises to examine the performance and technical indicators of the equipment. After supplying them to the troops, the depot will dispatch personnel to guide the troops in using the new equipment so as to generate the support capacity of new equipment as soon as possible and the fighting power of troops will be improved. When a new kind of bathing vehicle for field operations is issued to troops, it will hand out CDs instructing the troops how to use it and, at the same time, it will open a hotline for consultation. With the "trouble-shooting" feedbacks, the troops will be able to operate the new equipment in just a few days.
