Ma Binbin, a native of Shenyang, is a soldier of a frontier regiment under the Heilongjiang Provincial Military Command. On the morning of February 13, he was having a regular formation drill at the drill ground when he received a phone call, telling him that his mother had died of illness. Upon receiving the sad tidings, the Regiment Political Commissar Jiang Rong ordered related department to approve the leave immediately, and at the same time he sent people to buy train ticket for Ma and arranged a car to send him to the railway station. As luck would have it, on their way to the railway station, their car was blocked at the county seat due to a traffic accident somewhere on the way. The time was ticking away, and it seemed that they were not be able to catch the train. Company Commander Li Qiang, who was on the car, was burning with impatience, and had to explain the situation to the traffic police who were directing the traffic flow.
"This PLA man is in a hurry to catch the train, as his mother has passed away, please give them the way!" Upon hearing this, an old lady and dozens of civilians joined in directing the traffic flow, and over 20 passenger cars and freight trucks moved to the roadside on their own. In less than 20 minutes, their car passed the jam section and Ma was in time to catch his train for home.
